Southern Bears will once again participate in the Atlanta Parade for 2008. According to the Pride committee the parade will start at the Charles Allen entrance on Tenth Street, make a left on Peachtree Street and end up at the Atlanta Civic Center. The parade date is Sunday July 6th and starts at 1:00 PM. Check the Yahoo group for further details. |

The NEW Southern Bears Board of Directors has voted to place our annual bear run, Atlanta BearAll , on hiatus for 2008. Southern Bears has decided that due to the regional economy and declining attendance over the past several years, the event is in need of redevelopment and revamping to give the attendees what they are asking for. The new event will be more attendance friendly and will move away from the overpriced, oversized hotels with the $20.00+ per day parking and the $50.00+ hotel banquet meals. Certain individuals are talking with and attending successful bear runs across the country that sell out year after year to help format and develop a winning strategy for 2009. Look for exciting details in the near future announcing what will be the best bear run ever in Atlanta. |
